Omaha - our Home town- many firsts - you'll recognize

You can thank Omaha for easy baking. The Cake mix was developed in Omaha at Nebraska Consolidated Mills, which would later be known as Con Agra Foods. Also The TV Dinner - That’s right, this mid-century staple was invented right here in the heartland by C.A. Swanson and Sons in 1954.

And we know you’ve heard of the Reuben - the famous sandwich was invented right here at the Blackstone Hotel in Omaha.

The Richman Gordman store will be 100 years old this year, tracing its roots to a clothing store Russian immigrant Sam Richman opened in Omaha in 1915. He was joined by New Yorker Dan Gordman in 1936, after the latter discovered Omaha when his car broke down on a trip West.
